Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May to return for new Grand Tour series
The original trio will help introduce three new hosts as Prime Video releases all six episodes of the rebooted series.
- Amazon Prime is rebooting The Grand Tour with new hosts Francis Bourgeois, James Engelsman, and Thomas Holland, while original presenters Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May return in cameo roles.
- Clarkson, Hammond, and May ended their 22-year partnership in 2024, citing physical demands, age, and a lack of interest in electric cars after their previous work on the BBC motoring show Top Gear.
- Executive producer Andy Wilman noted the challenge of replacing the original stars, stating, "We've got three guys coming soon with a new Grand Tour and we've got behind them," while Holland and Engelsman bring experience from Throttle House.
- The new series arrives on Prime Video on September 4, featuring incoming presenter Bourgeois, who is a trained mechanical engineer and internet personality known for viral trainspotting videos.
- Addressing the show's format, Wilman explained that "when those three go away, you can't parachute in three new, good presenters who are funny," emphasizing the chemistry required: "you just need three funny blokes and they muck about.
