Jensen Ackles to star in 'Rules of Prey,' based on John Sanford novel
- On Tuesday, MGM+ announced actor Jensen Ackles will star in and executive-produce the drama series Rules of Prey, based on author John Sandford's book series.
- The series follows Lucas Davenport, a former Minneapolis Police Department detective described as a "righteous avenging angel" whose unconventional methods forced him out of law enforcement.
- Filming for the eight-episode season begins this month in Toronto, with showrunner Bruce Terris leading the project and director Daniel Sackheim helming the first two episodes.
- The series will premiere across the U.S., UK, Ireland, Germany, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, and Chile, expanding Ackles' partnership with Amazon MGM Studios.
- Beyond this drama, Ackles will reprise his role as Soldier Boy in the prequel Vought Rising on Prime Video and return as Russell Shaw in CBS's Tracker season four.
