Jenna Bush Hager Jokingly Blames Lorne Michaels for Being Cut From ‘SNL’ Sketch
Bowen Yang said writers originally included Bush Hager’s name in the sketch, which aired with a bob-haired army division and later drew her attention.
On Wednesday, Bowen Yang revealed on Las Culturistas that Jenna Bush Hager was nearly named in the 2025 Saturday Night Live sketch "Bob Army," which featured soldiers in a military division sporting signature bob haircuts.
The Bob Army sketch starred Glen Powell and Andrew Dismukes as soldiers in the "Slay Division," inspired by the bob Bush Hager adopted after Leslie Bibb guest-hosted Today in July 2025.
SNL creator Lorne Michaels reportedly questioned the inclusion, asking, "Who the f**k is Jenna Bush Hager?" and doubting many people knew who Hager was, leading to the line's removal.
Matt Rogers joked that the Today host essentially "made it into The Devil Wears Prada 2" by appearing in the sketch's dress rehearsal during their podcast discussion.
Guest host Olivia Munn previously claimed the look was "100 percent" inspired by the duo, and the bob remains a recognized part of the Today host's public persona.
