Emma Hippolyte during the Commission's 40th Assembly of Delegates, held in Washington D.C., USA, from May 27 to 29, 2026.

Jamaica has been elected to the executive committee of the Inter-American Commission of Women (CIM), securing a prominent role in shaping regional gender policy over the next three years.The appointment, covering the 2026 to 2029 term, was confirmed at the commission’s 40th Assembly of Delegates, held last week at the headquarters of the Organisation of American States (OAS) in Washington, DC.
