- On Monday, August 17, Malaysia's Mass Rapid Transit Corporation and RTS Operations gave media a tour of the Bukit Chagar RTS Link station, where officials stated commuters could clear immigration in seconds using high-tech e-gates.
- Scheduled for launch on January 1, 2027, the 4km Johor Bahru-Singapore Rapid Transit System Link aims to ease congestion for the 350,000 people currently using the Causeway, one of the world's busiest border crossings daily.
- Project director Zulkifli Mohamed aims for passengers to complete ticketing, security, and dual-country immigration checks within 25 minutes at the Bukit Chagar ICQ complex, which features 100 e-gate lanes, 18 baggage scanners, and 10 security screening lanes.
- A 409m pedestrian linkway will connect passengers to nearby malls like KOMTAR JBCC and Johor Bahru City Square. Dual operations control centres for Malaysia and Singapore will enable officials to jointly resolve service disruptions.
- Transport Minister Anthony Loke visited the site on Tuesday, August 18, confirming fare discussions remain ongoing. Official announcements on ticket prices and the actual operation date will be jointly released with Singapore soon.
