  • On Monday, August 17, Malaysia's Mass Rapid Transit Corporation and RTS Operations gave media a tour of the Bukit Chagar RTS Link station, where officials stated commuters could clear immigration in seconds using high-tech e-gates.
  • Scheduled for launch on January 1, 2027, the 4km Johor Bahru-Singapore Rapid Transit System Link aims to ease congestion for the 350,000 people currently using the Causeway, one of the world's busiest border crossings daily.
  • Project director Zulkifli Mohamed aims for passengers to complete ticketing, security, and dual-country immigration checks within 25 minutes at the Bukit Chagar ICQ complex, which features 100 e-gate lanes, 18 baggage scanners, and 10 security screening lanes.
