Archbishop Marek Jędraszewski offered a bitter assessment of what's happening in education. In the opinion of the former Metropolitan Archbishop of Kraków, Polish schools are heading in the wrong direction – it reminded him of the days of the Third Reich's rule in Germany. What does Father Adam Boniecki say to this? "I wouldn't subscribe to those words," he emphasized.
"The teaching of history, Polish language, geography and all important subjects that directly influence the formation of identity are being cut out. They want to do to our youth what Hitler wanted: teach only addition and subtraction, to create a mass of helpless people to work in, today, German asparagus fields. This cannot be allowed!" said Marek Jędraszewski, arb, during the Star Rally at Jasna Góra, referring to the contemporary school.
