- Having worked on the project for more than two years, about six months ago, a top lawyer for Kushner's firm assessed it in Belgrade; the project involved a $4.8 billion private-equity firm linked to a $55 billion buyout.
- The withdrawal effectively dooms a deal described as evidence foreign governments would bend over backward to help the Trump family, a spokesperson said it was out of respect for the people of Serbia and the City of Belgrade, The Wall Street Journal reported.
