Japan's Nojima to buy Hitachi's consumer appliances unit for more than $630 million, Nikkei reports
April 21 : Japanese electronics retailer Nojima is planning to buy Hitachi's consumer appliances unit Hitachi Global Life Solutions for over 100 billion yen ($630.32 million), the Nikkei newspaper reported on Tuesday. ($1 = 158.6500 yen)
Nojima, a consumer electronics retailer, announced on the 21st that it is considering acquiring Hitachi Global Life Solutions (GLS), a subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd. that handles the domestic white goods business. The company aims to expand its consumer electronics business by acquiring a major brand. Nojima will present the acquisition proposal to its board of directors at a meeting to be held on the 21st.
