Last April, the Liberals advertised their broadly disliked consumer carbon tax, est. 2019, by reminding people about that its associated rebate would soon be going out to eligible recipients. And then they attacked the guy who pledged to get rid of it all: “Pierre Poilievre and his Conservatives would cut your rebates and take us backward,” read one faux-threat.
