Nigeria: JAMB Releases 279 Withheld UTME Results

JAMB said some results were cancelled for malpractice while others were cleared after no prima facie case was found.

  • JAMB released 279 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination results on Thursday that were previously withheld for investigation into suspected examination malpractices.
  • Ongoing investigations into suspected examination malpractice prompted the decision. JAMB conducted the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination between April 16 and 25 at accredited computer-based test centres nationwide.
  • Evidence of malpractice led the Board to cancel some results, while others were released after the Board found no prima facie case against affected Candidates.
  • Results from centres where the Board's live monitoring team observed suspicious activities remain withheld pending further investigation, with cancellation possible where sufficient evidence of culpability is established.
  • Public Communication Advisor Fabian Benjamin advised Candidates whose results were not yet released to check their status by sending "UTMERESULT" to 55019 or 66019 using their registration phone number.
