Track List of New J. Cole Album Is Packed with Fayetteville References
The Fall-Off consists of 24 tracks split into two discs reflecting J. Cole's life at ages 29 and 39, inspired by his first mixtape and recent creative reinvigoration.
- On Wednesday , J. Cole posted on Instagram the tracklist and back-cover art for The Fall-Off, showing Disc 29 and Disc 39 written in red font on a room ceiling.
- Framing the project as a full-circle effort, J. Cole said The Fall-Off was made with intentions to be his last and brings his 2007 mixtape The Come Up full circle after becoming re-inspired two years ago and his 2024 apology to Kendrick Lamar.
- On Wednesday, Cole's double LP features 24 tracks, with posters of Nas and 50 Cent on the back cover, and credits Ibrahim 'IB' Hamad, T-Minus, and Dreamville as executive producers.
- Alongside the announcement, Cole released the single Disc 2 Track 2 and the Birthday Blizzard '26 EP on Jan. 28, writing `you, in some deeper metaphysical type way, are in the music too.`
- For the long view, Cole designed the back cover art with artists on his wall from when he was 15 and added an additional cover featuring Cole's face to reflect his younger self.
