IU Demands Interior Ministry Resignations Over Police Report Linking Morocco to Ceuta Migrant Influx

Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska ordered police to verify the claim as more than 70,000 migrants entered the enclave in two days, ministry sources said.

Summary
The federal coordinator of United Left, Antonio Maíllo , believes that the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska , should resign if he was aware of the police report linking Morocco to the mass entry of migrants into Ceuta at the end of July. Maíllo, who leads one of the parties in the coalition government, made this statement following the revelation yesterday that the General Immigration Commissariat had prepared and sent to Judge María Tardón an analysis pointing to the active complicity of Moroccan Gendarmerie officers, who allegedly directed the crowd toward the border.
