ITV Britain's Got Talent star dies as son pays heartfelt tribute - Liverpool Echo

Last month, Dave Betton, Britain's Got Talent singer, age 82, died from sepsis after a very brief illness, surrounded by loved ones in sheltered accommodation in Lytham.
Betton had retired after his wife's death 15 years earlier but returned to TV performing on Britain's Got Talent with his son.
Performing on Britain's Got Talent, Betton and his son Dean earned a standing ovation for their rendition of Sinatra's `That's Life`, with Amanda Holden saying they 'smashed it' and Simon Cowell calling them a 'mug of hot chocolate.'
Planned arrangements include a service at Carleton Crematorium on October 27, as Dean said over 400 Facebook tributes have been received this last week.
Known for decades on the coastal club circuit, Betton launched his career at Dorchester Hotel, Blackpool, toured Australia and South Africa, and is survived by sons Dean and Darren plus a musical grandson.
