ITV announces new I'm a Celebrity spin-off
ITV says the new spin-off will send celebrities into Canada in pairs, with relatives or friends able to compete together.
- On Monday, ITV announced the 2027 launch of 'I'm A Celebrity: The Wild Frontier,' a spin-off series set in the rugged wilderness of Canada featuring celebrity pairs competing with a 'unique twist' to the regular format.
- Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly will host the duos as they 'enter, play, and leave' as a pair, with ITV Director of Entertainment, Reality & Daytime Katie Rawcliffe noting the format 'takes duos to the most spectacular locations in Canada.'
- Competing pairs face gruelling trials to win food, with viewers casting the final vote in a live grand final broadcast from London; 'After weeks of shocks and survival in the Canadian wilderness, viewers will have the power to decide,' the broadcaster said.
- The main 'I'm A Celebrity' series will continue in Australia as normal, with 'I'm A Celebrity...Unpacked' airing on ITV2 directly after each main episode on ITV1, as Donnelly confirmed they will 'see you back in Australia later in the year.'
- On Saturday, September 5, Jeremy Lynch and Paul Olima were seen at Heathrow Airport preparing to board a flight to Vancouver; the duo, who have nearly 14 million subscribers, are set to film the project later this week.
