BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — BREC's Liberty Lagoon Water Park will not be opening on Memorial Day weekend. The opening delay is due to a shortage of certified lifeguards. BREC won't be able to open the Liberty Lagoon Water Park on Lobdell Avenue in Baton Rouge on Memorial Day weekend, due to a shortage of certified lifeguards, the agency said. It hopes to open the park as soon as possible, it said.
