A retired Colonel from Gurgaon was blackmailed, assaulted, and robbed in Mathura after meeting a woman from a matrimonial site. He was held for two hours, beaten, and extorted for money and valuables.

According to the indictment, a young man in his 20s contacted his victims through dating groups on the app, during which intimate photos were exchanged and he began to extort large sums of money from them in exchange for not publishing them. The defendant is charged with impersonation, receiving something by deception and blackmail by threats.
