- On Sunday, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency operatives arrested Italy-based businessman Joseph Cyril at Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu after he ingested 98 wraps of cocaine weighing 1.510kg.
- Investigations revealed Cyril arrived in Nigeria from Italy on July 13, ingesting the narcotics at an Awka hotel before traveling to Enugu, and agreed to traffic the consignment for €3,500 to fund his relocation to Germany.
- On Tuesday, August 4, NDLEA officers intercepted a truck on the Akure-Ilesha Expressway, seizing 1,633kg of skunk concealed in bags of rice shafts and arresting suspects Buba Jamilu and Sanusi Ibrahim.
- In Lagos, operatives discovered 73 cartons containing 442 packets of cannabis-infused cookies weighing 309.4kg at Tincan Port Complex on Tuesday, August 4, while Edo State operatives recovered 604.5kg of skunk on Wednesday, August 5.
- NDLEA Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa , commended the commands for successful operations, urging personnel to sustain the agency's balanced approach to drug control through ongoing War Against Drug Abuse initiatives.
