Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda said after a meeting of the State Defense Council that the drone shot down by NATO fighter jets over Lithuania on the night of September 15 was a Russian Gerbera drone.
"Putin lives at war. The ostrich strategy is not working. There can be no doubt: if Lithuania, Estonia or Latvia were attacked, Poland should view it as an attack on itself and send its forces," Polish General Roman Polko, former commander of the elite special forces unit GROM, said in an interview with LRT.lt.
The President of Lithuania informed that the drone of the type Gerbera, loaded with explosives, was Russian-made and entered Lithuanian territory on Tuesday, having been shot down by NATO fighters a few minutes later.
The Polish prosecutor announced Wednesday that the aircraft found earlier this week on a beach in Poland is a Russian Gerbera-2 drone, reports AFP.
