The driver, 82-year-old Carol Pessler, was convicted after a trial of evidence, of the crime of neglect after causing a fatal car accident in Netanya in 2023. The court adopted the position of the prosecution and determined in its ruling that Pessler was aware that she had hit a person while driving, but despite this, she decided to continue driving all the way home.
