MUNCIE – The Muncie Police Department has requested the Indiana State Police to conduct an independent investigation into an officer-involved shooting that occurred Tuesday evening.At approximately 5:00 p.m., Muncie Police officers were dispatched to the 300 block of South Ivy Wood Drive to conduct a welfare check.
