The upcoming season of the Indian Super League (ISL), which was earlier scheduled to kick off on September 4, is set to be postponed by more than a month and will start only after October 6.

The AIFF stated that the league will follow a double round-robin format, thus potentially doing away with the knockout stage that came at the end of the season for the ISL Cup and an ISL Shield which was awarded to the team that finished top in the league stage.
