Is YouTube Still Down? Live Updates on YouTube Outage

On Tuesday, YouTube suffered a nationwide outage starting about 6:50 p.m. CT, with over 355,000 users reporting issues by 7:18 p.m. Tuesday.
YouTube had not acknowledged the outage at publication, Google did not immediately respond to NBC Chicago, and The Hollywood Reporter sought comment without additional information.
Users on desktop and mobile reported videos wouldn’t load, and Downdetector showed more than 300,000 reports by 8:13 p.m. ET in Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, and Phoenix.
Outage disrupted access for tens of thousands while YouTube serves more than 2.7 billion monthly active users, going down at 5 p.m. PT and restoring by 6:05 p.m. PT without immediate acknowledgment.
With creators affected, outlets pressed YouTube for comment as last year Neal Mohan, CEO of YouTube, appeared on THR's Creators Issue, emphasizing user-generated content's importance.
