Is Russia Outpacing NATO In Weapons Production?

RUSSIA, JUL 25 – Russia increased artillery shell production to 2.3 million in 2024, outpacing NATO despite sanctions and ongoing conflict with Ukraine, officials and analysts report.

RFE/RL and the Conflict Intelligence Team (CIT), an open-source intelligence group, analyzed Russian and Western weapons production to assess whether Russia really has a twelvefold lead over the US and its allies, as outlined by NATO chief Mark Rutte.
