According to calculations by meteorologists, heat waves will increase by the end of the century - especially in eastern and southern Germany. Other regions expect significantly more precipitation.

The temperatures in northern Germany continue to rise in the long term, as shown in the climate status report 2025. This means, among other things, more rainfall in winter and longer heat periods in summer.
