Iraq asked Iran for a ‘special status’ for oil exports across the Strait of Ormuz, as negotiations continue.
Iraqi Parliament Speaker Heybet al-Halbousi met with Iranian Assembly Speaker Mohammed Bakir Kalibaf in Baghdad. Halbusi demanded that Iraq be granted special status to export its oil through the Strait of Hormuz, while Kalibaf sent a message of cooperation between the countries of the region without foreign interference.
Iraqi Parliament Speaker Hibat al-Halbousi requested that Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf grant Iraqi oil a "special status" for exporting through the Strait of Hormuz.
