Iran’s Mojtaba Khamenei ‘safe and sound’ despite war injury reports: President’s son
Mojtaba Khamenei sustained limb injuries during initial US-Israeli strikes and is sheltering securely, with no public appearances since his selection, officials said.
- On Wednesday, Yousef Pezeshkian, a government adviser, said 'I heard news that Mr Mojtaba Khamenei had been injured. I have asked some friends who had connections. They told me that, thank God, he is safe and sound', affirming the leader's safety despite injury reports.
- Three Iranian sources said Khamenei was injured on February 28, and Israeli assessments suggested leg injuries occurred that day, before he was selected as supreme leader Sunday.
