Iranian oil flows through Strait of Hormuz even as Gulf neighbors' exports shut
Iran exported about 11.7 million barrels of crude oil through the Strait of Hormuz since Feb. 28, mostly to China, despite strikes and mine threats disrupting other Gulf exports.

- Since Feb. 28, Iran's retaliation included attacks on ten vessels near the Strait, killing at least seven seafarers, and laying mines while U.S. forces destroyed 16 mine-laying ships.
- Kpler data showed Iranian exports reached about 16.5 million barrels in early March, while TankerTrackers.com estimated 13.7 million barrels since February 28, with 11.7 million barrels passing the Strait of Hormuz to China, Samir Madani said.
- Markets later showed prices easing to around $84.9 for U.S. WTI and $88.9 for Brent as flows and signals shifted, following a surge after Gulf cuts and Hormuz disruptions.
- Iran has resumed loading at Jask, and Nhway Khin Soe of Kpler said, 'Given that China has been the primary buyer of Iranian crude in recent years, a significant share of these barrels could ultimately head there.
