Iranian missile hit oil tanker in Qatari waters, Qatar says
Qatar said two missiles were intercepted and the tanker’s 21 crew members were evacuated without injuries or environmental damage, officials said.
- On Wednesday, April 1, an Iranian missile struck an oil tanker leased to QatarEnergy in Qatari territorial waters, with the Qatari Defence Ministry announcing armed forces "successfully intercepted two of the cruise missiles, while the third missile struck an oil tanker."
- Following US and Israeli air strikes that began February 28, Iran has launched repeated missile attacks on Gulf oil and gas facilities over the past month in response, killing more than 1,340 people according to Iranian authorities.
