- Iran's IMO representative Ali Mousavi said the strait is open except to vessels linked to "Iran's enemies" with passage requiring Tehran's coordination, while Iranian military and state media warned of retaliation targeting energy, information technology and desalination infrastructure if Iran's facilities are attacked.
- Traffic through the Strait has effectively halted, with Brent crude surging over $112 a barrel and the world's 20 largest airlines losing about $53 billion since the war started.
