IRAN, AUG 10 – Iran supports the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace deal but rejects the US-led transit corridor near its border, warning it threatens regional stability and sovereignty, officials said.
- Amid the Washington summit, Iran's Foreign Ministry welcomed the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace agreement as a step toward regional peace but warned against foreign intervention near its borders.
- During a ceremony at the White House on Aug 8, Armenia and Azerbaijan signed a US-brokered peace deal granting the US exclusive development rights for up to 99 years.
