Iran, Russia to conduct navy drills after US nuclear talks

On Thursday, Russia will take part in joint naval exercises with the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Sea of Oman, Iranian media reported shortly after Geneva talks between Tehran and Washington.
Earlier this week, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps launched drills in the Strait of Hormuz, and Tehran temporarily restricted access for several hours for security reasons.
ISNA reported, citing Rear Admiral Hassan Maghsoudloo, that the drills aim to strengthen maritime security and deepen relations between the two navies in the northern Indian Ocean.
