The resumption of hostilities and the closure of the Strait of Ormuz have led to an increase in oil prices.
Iran launched missiles and drones on Sunday against its Gulf neighbours and announced the closure of the Strait of Ormuz in response to new U.S. attacks, fired after Iranian fire on a ship that would have taken an "unauthorized route." The U.S. denies the closure of the sea lane by ensuring that ships are circulating and its Defense Secretary, Pete Hegseth, said Tehran "made a bad decision" and will "pay" the price.
Iran announced on Sunday the closure of the Strait of Ormuz after the attack of a ship and the shootings exchanged between the two countries. An increase in tensions which once again undermines the cease-fire theoretically
The hostilities, which have resumed for several days, have reached an unprecedented level during the night of Saturday to Sunday since the signing of a memorandum between Washington and Tehran on 17 June.
The United States and Iran exchanged fresh blows in the Middle East overnight.
