Iowa State's T.J. Otzelberger Agrees to 10-Year Extension
Otzelberger’s new deal follows a five-year run in which Iowa State reached the Sweet 16 three times.
On Wednesday, athletic director Jamie Pollard announced that Iowa State University head coach T.J. Otzelberger agreed to a 10-year contract extension increasing his annual salary to $6 million.
Otzelberger inherited a program coming off a 2-22 season in 2020-21, subsequently leading the Cyclones to five straight NCAA Tournament bids.
The Cyclones achieved a 29-8 record this past season, securing their third NCAA Sweet 16 appearance in five years while appearing in 52 consecutive Associated Press Top 25 polls.
Otzelberger holds a 124-53 record since the 2021-22 season and set a school record with 30 victories over Top 25 opponents.
Athletic director Jamie Pollard credited Otzelberger with elevating the program into a perennial contender, while the coach stated, "Iowa State is home for my family, and we are excited to be part of the community.
