Since 2 January, victims of violence in Vienna can have their injuries documented in such a way that they hold evidence in court. An initial assessment shows that such an institution is necessary.
Vienna Investigation Office for Victims of Violence Took Stock
Since the beginning of the year, the Investigation Center for Victims of Violence has existed at MedUni Vienna, Zimmermannplatz 1. In the first eight months, 293 cases were clinically and forensically examined, with injuries documented and evidence secured. Victims were also offered counseling.
Since January, the investigative body for victims of violence at the Medical University of Vienna has been open. A first report from Friday shows that hundreds of people, mainly women, have now taken advantage of this opportunity. Here, victims of violence can be investigated free of charge and in a safe environment.
Since the beginning of the year, the Investigation Centre for those affected by violence (UGB) has been located at MedUni Vienna in Zimmermannplatz 1.
