An investigation has been launched into Viktor Orbán's social media contracts on suspicion of mismanagement. The investigation involves more than four billion forints of public funds.
“If you’re not on Facebook, you don’t exist,” Viktor Orbán said in Tusnad two years ago, emphasizing that in order to succeed in modern politics, you have to communicate digitally. In comparison, the former prime minister’s official page has been in a slump for weeks, and by August he had spectacularly withdrawn from social media.
According to the Prime Minister's Office, more than 4.2 billion forints of public money have been paid to produce Viktor Orbán's social media content since 2022, and a complaint has been filed on suspicion of mismanagement and abuse of office.
