King County Assessor John Wilson Violated Ethics Code 4 Times, Ombuds Report Finds
The report says he used county email for a personal lease, campaign activity and court-order violations, and found explicit language on county technology.
On Tuesday, the King County Office of the Ombuds released an Ethics Report concluding that Assessor John Wilson violated the King County Ethics Code in four separate sets of issues.
King County Councilmember Claudia Balducci filed a complaint in June 2025 alleging Wilson utilized County resources to contact and harass his former domestic partner, prompting the Ombuds investigation.
Investigators determined Wilson used his official email to violate court orders, negotiate a residential lease at Lake Sammamish, and used County-owned technology for sexually explicit language.
Wilson is not seeking reelection as Assessor, having suspended his campaign for King County Executive following his arrest last year.
While criminal stalking charges against the Assessor were dismissed in June 2026, the ethics report marks another chapter in a series of legal and personal troubles.
