International Confirms EPA 2027 Readiness with Proven S13 Integrated Powertrain
International's 2027 S13 powertrain retains over 90% hardware to ensure fuel economy and service consistency while meeting EPA emissions with dual-stage aftertreatment and renewable diesel approval.
- International announced its 2027 S13 Integrated Powertrain meets EPA 2027 emissions requirements from Lisle, Illinois.
- Developed from a clean-sheet design in 2017, the S13 Integrated Powertrain was engineered to prepare for EPA 2027’s tighter emissions rules.
- Retaining over 90% of hardware, the 2027 S13 Integrated Powertrain preserves service tools, parts and technician training while adding Variable Valve Timing and Variable Valve Braking, a closed crankcase breather, oil centrifuge, 24V powertrain electrical architecture, and T14 14-speed transmission with integrated PTO options.
- Fleets across North America have logged more than 700 million miles with the S13, and customers can expect similar fuel economy and driving experience, supporting operational continuity.
- As part of the TRATON GROUP, International says the S13 is approved for R100 renewable diesel without hardware changes, with B100 trials ongoing.
