UNITED STATES, JUL 17 – The Superman movie’s canine character Krypto inspired a nationwide 500% increase in dog adoption searches and helped place over 450 pets in homes through fee waiver programs.
- On the weekend of July 11, U.S. Google searches for `adopt a dog near me` surged by 513%, according to Woofz.
- Earlier this month, Warner Bros. partnered with Best Friends Animal Society to waive adoption fees from July 1–10, resulting in dozens of early placements.
- Search data shows `rescue dog adoption` queries jumped 163% and `adopt a Schnauzer` searches climbed 299%, according to Woofz.
- A Krypto look-alike contest is scheduled for July 18th at Manhattan West Plaza, hosted by Pumpkin Pet Insurance in New York City.
- In Sydney, the campaign will culminate with an experiential giveaway event where pet parents can score free limited edition Superman pet toys.
