EXCLUSIVE: Intel Confirms XeSS 3 Multi-Frame Generation Is Coming to Arc B580 Next Month — and It’s Now My Top GPU Recommendation
Intel's XeSS 3 uses AI to insert up to three frames between rendered ones, improving frame rates and animation smoothness on Arc GPUs and Core Ultra CPUs.
- Included in the latest Windows driver, Intel is rolling out XeSS 3 to Arc Alchemist and Battlemage GPUs and several Intel CPU families, confirming XeSS 3 will reach Intel Arc B580 next month, Tom's Guide reports.
- Unveiled last October, XeSS 3 is Intel's third-generation AI-driven multi-frame generation that smooths animation by inserting generated frames without increasing native rendering workload.
- Intel says XeSS 3 uses an optical flow network built from motion vectors and depth buffers, with a single optical flow calculation pass per batch, while users can select 2×, 3×, or 4× modes or enable Frame Generation Override in Intel Graphics Software.
- The driver release also patches a Pragmata Sketchbook demo crash on Arc B-series discrete GPUs and Core Ultra Series 2 CPUs and fixes Variable Refresh Rate reporting.
- XeSS 3 competes directly with Nvidia DLSS and AMD FSR Redstone, but AMD warns multi-frame interpolation can add latency, while Intel's XeSS 3 remains fully software-driven unlike DLSS 4.x's hardware Flip Metering.

Intel XeSS 3 multi frame generation now rolling out to Arc GPUs
Included in driver package version 32.0.101.8425/32.0.101.8362 WHQL, XeSS 3 is Intel's new multi-frame generation (MFG) approach to upscaling. The idea is not new (nor are we convinced we like it) but it does remain ambitious: insert up to three AI-generated frames after every traditionally rendered frame, smoothing out animation without...Read Entire Article
The launch shot for Intel's XeSS-3 generation has fallen: From now on, a driver is available that brings the new multi-frame generation to GPUs - but currently only on the latest notebooks.
Intel Arc B580 Will Receive XeSS 3 Multi-Frame Generation Support Next Month
Yesterday, Intel released its latest Arc GPU drivers—a major upgraded feature was introduced in the form of third-gen Xe Super Sampling (XeSS) with multi-frame generation (MFG) tech. The 8362 WHQL branch covers Arc iGPUs in brand-new Core Ultra 3 "Panther Lake-H" mobile processors, whilst the other one—8425—takes care of older discrete and integrated solutions. Curiously, Team Blue's latest update does not bring immediate XeSS 3 MFG support to t…
