Erdogan bans images of jailed Istanbul Mayor Imamoglu as crackdown intensifies

Turkish authorities have imposed a ban on using images and sound recordings of jailed Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu

His image and voice were banned in public transport; "İmamoğlu Everywhere" campaign was launched

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has sent a new instruction to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), banning the use of content containing photos, videos and voices of IMM President Ekrem İmamoğlu in the metro, metrobus, buses and ferries.

The use of all content containing photos, videos and audio of Ekrem İmamoğlu in public transportation vehicles in Istanbul was banned by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. The instruction was directly conveyed to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality.
