Instacart Acquires Instaleap to Accelerate Global Expansion of Its Enterprise Platform
Instaleap’s marketplace integrations and fulfillment tools will add to Instacart’s enterprise offerings as it reaches nearly 30 countries.
- On Tuesday, Instacart announced the acquisition of Instaleap, a Colombia-based grocery technology firm, accelerating its strategy to expand enterprise offerings beyond North America.
- Instaleap brings expertise across nearly 30 countries and has powered more than 100 million transactions, integrating order management, logistics, and customer experience to streamline retailer operations globally.
- Instacart Chief Commercial Officer Ryan Hamburger said the deal allows the company to "accelerate our international expansion" by combining Instaleap's relationships with Instacart's proven commerce, advertising, and smart cart technologies.
- Instaleap will initially operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Instacart to ensure continuity for retail partners. Antonio dos Santos Nunes, CEO of Instaleap, called the acquisition "an exciting moment."
- The acquisition enables Instacart to expand internationally without launching a delivery network, while planning to eventually offer partners its own suite of data and AI-powered solutions.
