[Nago] On the 6th, the Abe district of Nago City (District Head: Motoharu Miyagi) held the Abushibare ceremony to pray for a bountiful harvest. They placed harmful insects on insect boats made from banana stems and set them adrift on the sea with the wish that they would "live happily in Nirai Kanai and never return." In the past, the insect boats were called "grass baskets" and rats were sometimes placed on them.
