Inmate charged with first-degree murder in death of serial killer Robert Pickton
QUEBEC, JUL 21 – Martin Charest faces first-degree murder charges for the assault on convicted serial killer Robert Pickton that led to his death 12 days later, according to an independent report.
- On July 3, 2025, Martin Charest was charged with first-degree murder at Quebec’s Port-Cartier maximum security prison.
- During the assault on May 19, 2024, Pickton was attacked at Port-Cartier prison, Correctional Service of Canada said, and he died 12 days later without charges.
