Deputies and state agencies are searching for Pablo Zuriel Miranda, 32, who faces murder and aggravated assault charges, officials said.
On Sunday, Pablo Zuriel Miranda, 32, escaped from the Atkinson County Jail in Georgia at approximately 6:30 a.m., according to Sheriff David Moore.
Held without bond for more than 800 days, Miranda was awaiting trial on charges of felony murder and aggravated assault after being booked into the facility on May 1, 2024.
Law enforcement agencies across Southeast Georgia, including the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and Georgia State Patrol, are actively searching with K-9 units and air support.
Authorities established round-the-clock video surveillance at Miranda's ex-wife's home to ensure her safety while deputies work to apprehend him, the Atkinson County Sheriff's Office said.
"If you see Miranda, DO NOT APPROACH HIM," the sheriff's office warned, urging the public to call 911 immediately with any information about his whereabouts.
