SOUTHPORT, NC (WWAY) — The Southport Police Department shared photos in a Facebook post of an officer rescuing an injured pelican. Police say Animal Protective Services Officer Katie Ward found the injured pelican at the Old Smithville Cemetery Thursday morning.
