Injured in hunting accident in southeast Styria

A 41-year-old hunter was injured on Saturday during a hunt in southeast Styria. According to initial police findings, a colleague (69) had wanted to shoot an apparently sick deer in order to put it out of its misery. Parts of the shotgun ammunition may have hit the 41-year-old in the hip, upper abdomen and thigh area. Despite the orange warning cap, he was barely visible on the sloping terrain, police said on Sunday.
