On 1 September last, a motorist was controlled by customs at the Capitou toll in Fréjus (A8). In his van, 380 nitrous oxide canisters. Under a new law passed last month penalizing the offence of inhalation or transport of this gas, the driver was sentenced last Friday to one year's imprisonment in Draguignan.
Nearly 500 kilos of nitrous oxide canisters were discovered in a customs-controlled van on the A8 motorway, on 1 September, in the Var. A total of 380 canisters were seized. The driver was sentenced to one year's imprisonment on Monday.
