Despite decades of public health efforts to promote safer sleep, these deaths remain a major cause of mortality during infancy.A new report from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found
The report, published on September 10, 2026, evaluates 4,861 deaths from five years; the German guideline on prevention recommends a back position, a sleeping bag instead of a blanket and your own bed in the parents' room.
