LP Crisis: Abure's Camp Celebrates as INEC Publishes Moghalu's Name for Anambra Election
- The Independent National Electoral Commission published personal details of 16 candidates for the November 8, 2025 Anambra State governorship election.
- INEC released the candidates’ details after 16 political parties submitted their nomination forms through the commission’s portal by the May 12 deadline, at which point the portal automatically closed.
- INEC has made available copies of candidates' Form EC9, including their academic qualifications and supporting documents, for public review at its main office in Anambra and in all 21 local government area offices throughout the state.
- Sam Olumekun, INEC's National Commissioner, announced that the comprehensive list of candidates will be made public on June 9, 2025, complying with the Electoral Act 2022 requirement to release it no less than 150 days prior to the election day.
- INEC encouraged Nigerians to review the published candidate documents and informed that aspirants who suspect false information can seek legal redress by filing a petition at the Federal High Court in line with the provisions of the Electoral Act.
