On Wednesday 29 July 2026, the Toulouse commercial court took notice of the judicial liquidation of the Fibre Excellence plant in Tarascon (Bouches-du-Rhône). Fibre Excellence, owner of the last two pulp mills in France, had been placed in court on 27 April. Tarascon's site, which has 270 employees, has been the subject of a judicial liquidation since Wednesday. The takeover offer filed on 1 June by the leaders has not convinced.
No decision was taken for the other plant in Saint-Gaudens, for which an industrialist expressed his interest in the last minute on Monday.
